A group of 35 student delegates from India’s top universities, including IITs, IIMs, and NLUs, met with Goa’s Water Resources Development (WRD) Minister, Shri. Subhash Shirodkar, to discuss innovative solutions for sustainable water resource management.
The interactive session, held at Porvorim, Goa, was part of the Chhatra Sansad event, a platform for young leaders to engage with policymakers and experts. The students, who are on a 7-day tour of Mumbai and Goa as part of the InterNation Leadership Tour’24, had the opportunity to share their ideas and insights on fostering cooperative frameworks for community development.
Minister Shirodkar emphasized the importance of sustainable water management practices and encouraged the students to think creatively about addressing this critical issue. The students appreciated the minister’s willingness to engage with them and valued the opportunity to contribute to the discussion.
This initiative is a testament to the government’s commitment to involving young minds in the policymaking process and promoting sustainable development practices.
