Margao: The highly anticipated Alcon GSB Unity Cup 2025, organized by the Goa GSB Sports and Charitable Trust, kicked off in style at the MCC ground in Margao, with thrilling opening matches over the weekend.
On Sunday, Mapusa Dream Crushers UC claimed a convincing 36-run victory over Priority Titans. Batting first, Mapusa Dream Crushers posted an impressive total of 180/7 in their 20 overs, with stellar contributions from Saish Hegde (37), Kaushal Churi (35), and Rajaram Kundaikar (35).* In response, Priority Titans were bundled out for 144 in 18.2 overs, despite a valiant 33 from Kapil Sinai Borker. Venkatesh Verlekar, with bowling figures of 3/26, was named Man of the Match for his match-winning performance.
On Saturday, Commonwealth Developers Margao Mega Strikers delivered a dominant performance, defeating Rising Stars of Antruz UC by 5 wickets with 45 balls to spare. Chasing a modest target of 112, Mega Strikers cruised to victory in just 12.3 overs, thanks to an opening partnership of 41 runs between Vismay Falgaonkar (35) and Durgesh Prabhugaokar (30). Earlier, their bowlers shone brightly, with Animesh Prabhugaonkar (2/17), Aditya Angle (2/19), and Siddhesh Prabhu Alvencar (1/30) restricting the Rising Stars to 111/9 in 20 overs.
