GOA LEADS THE WAY: CM DR. PRAMOD SAWANT ANNOUNCES LANDMARK ACHIEVEMENTS
In a significant milestone, Goa has become the first state in India to achieve 100% mechanized scavenging systems, effectively eradicating manual scavenging. This announcement was made by Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant in the presence of Social Welfare Minister Shri Subhash Phal Dessai at Porvorim.
Goa has successfully implemented 100% mechanized scavenging systems, making it a model state for others to follow. The state government has also extended monetary assistance and benefits to the survivors of sanitation workers who lost their lives in manual scavenging.
Furthermore, the government has extended financial assistance and certificates to ‘Dilasa’ under the Palliative Care Center Scheme, which provides support to registered organizations running homes for senior citizens suffering from chronic diseases.
Additionally, the state government has announced a special train from Goa to Mahakumbh Prayagraj under the Mukhyamantri Dev Darshan Scheme.
These initiatives demonstrate the state government’s commitment to social welfare and its efforts to improve the lives of citizens.
