In a recent development, the Mapusa JMFC court has granted bail to Ramesh Rao and Shakeel Shaikh, accused in the Cunchelim-Kadpawado Communidade land scam case. The bail was granted on a ₹50,000 personal bond with one local surety.
As part of the bail conditions, Rao and Shaikh are prohibited from committing similar offenses and leaving the country without permission. They are also required to cooperate fully with the investigation.
Additionally, the accused must report to the Mapusa Police Station daily for eight days, followed by regular check-ins on the first Monday of every alternate month for a period of one year.
“We are satisfied with the court’s decision to grant bail to our clients. We will ensure that they comply with the bail conditions and cooperate fully with the investigation,” said Advocate Vinayak Parab, counsel for the accused.
