Crackdown on Public Drinking in Calangute
In a bid to curb the nuisance of public drinking, Calangute Police Station has launched a drive to book cases against individuals found drinking in public places. This move comes after numerous instances of tourists throwing alcohol bottles on the beach, leading to injuries from broken glass and even drowning cases after consuming alcohol.
From January 1st to date, Calangute Police Station has booked 21 cases against individuals found drinking in public places and collected a total of Rs. 42,000 in fines from the accused. This drive will continue to ensure the safety of tourists and maintain cleanliness on the beaches.
