“Goa’s Rich Heritage Takes Center Stage at this years Carnival”
Panaji, March 4, 2025: The vibrant streets of Panaji were set ablaze with the spirit of Goan culture and tradition as the annual carnival celebrations kicked off. This year’s festivities were a true celebration of all things Goan, showcasing the state’s unique heritage and customs.
The highlight of the carnival was a stunning float that paid tribute to Goa’s secular fabric, depicting the harmonious coexistence of people from diverse religious backgrounds. The carnival also highlighted Goa’s rich environmental heritage, with a thought-provoking float raising awareness about the conservation of protected sea turtle species that nest on Goa’s beaches. Another float showcased the state’s iconic fisherman community, with participants proudly displaying their fresh catch, including kingfish.
