RARE ‘DOOMSDAY’ FISH SPOTTED ON MEXICO BEACH

Baja California Sur, Mexico – : A rare and mysterious oarfish, known for its slender shape and shimmering scales, was spotted on a beach in Baja California Sur, Mexico.

The deep-sea creature, which is rarely seen near the surface, was found wriggling on the beach by a group of visitors. Robert Hayes, a tourist from Idaho, filmed the fish and reported that it appeared to be injured.

Oarfish are typically found at depths of between 660 and 3,280 feet underwater and are known for their impressive length, with some specimens reaching up to 36 feet.

The sighting of the oarfish comes after a series of rare deep-sea creature sightings in recent months, including a black seadevil anglerfish spotted near the surface off the coast of Tenerife.

Scientists believe that changes in ocean conditions may be responsible for the increase in sightings of deep-sea creatures.

The oarfish has gained a mythical reputation as a “doomsday” fish, with some believing that its appearance foretells natural disasters. However, Japanese researchers have found no link between oarfish sightings and earthquakes.
