MAPUSA, GOA: In a surprise move, a team of health officials descended upon the Mapusa market on Thursday conducting a thorough inspection of the premises. The crackdown comes in response to mounting complaints from locals and traders about the market’s unsanitary conditions.
The inspection team, led by the Chief Health Officer, swooped in on the market, scrutinizing every nook and cranny. They checked for proper waste disposal, food handling, and storage practices, as well as the overall cleanliness of the market.
The findings were alarming. Several stalls and shops were found to be violating basic health and hygiene norms, with improper disposal of waste, inadequate storage facilities, and unhygienic food handling practices.
