FIR Filed Against Canca Resident for Remarks Against Swami Brahmeshanand
Porvorim police have registered an FIR against Suraj Arondekar, a resident of Canca-Bardez, for allegedly hurting religious sentiments and promoting enmity among groups based on race and religion. The complaint was filed by around 50-60 disciples of Swami Brahmeshanand, a renowned spiritual guru ¹.
According to the police, Arondekar made derogatory comments against Swami Brahmeshanand on a WhatsApp group, which offended the followers of Tapobhumi. This is the second complaint filed against Arondekar in two days. Previously, a group of residents from Socorro and Porvorim had accused him of using vulgar language and defaming a caste and some prominent individuals.
The Porvorim police had issued a notice to Arondekar, directing him to appear at the police station. The investigation is ongoing, and further action will be taken based on the findings.
Swami Brahmeshanand is a prominent spiritual leader and the Peethadhishwar of Datta Padmanabh Peeth, a spiritual organization with a long history of Guru-Shishya tradition ¹.
