VIRGIO PARTNERS WITH IIFA TO PROMOTE SUSTAINABLE FASHION
In a significant move to promote eco-friendly fashion, apparel brand Virgio has collaborated with the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) as its Sustainable Fashion Partner for the 25th-anniversary edition of the IIFA Weekend & Awards 2025, held in Jaipur, Rajasthan ¹.
This partnership aligns with IIFA’s long-standing commitment to environmental awareness and reinforces the role of eco-conscious fashion in the entertainment industry. The collaboration focused on the IIFA Green Carpet, an initiative advocating for environmental preservation since 2007.
Virgio’s co-founder and CEO, Amar Nagaram, expressed his pride in collaborating with IIFA, stating that the platform truly values purpose. He emphasized Virgio’s commitment to sustainability and its aim to amplify its mission and celebrate India’s artisans on a global stage.
The brand’s presence was felt across key moments of the event, with Bollywood celebrities such as Shah Rukh Khan, Karan Johar, and Kareena Kapoor engaging in discussions on sustainability’s role in fashion. Virgio also spotlighted Jaipur’s traditional block print artisans, bringing their craftsmanship to an international platform.
IIFA’s co-founder, Andre Timmins, noted that the partnership with Virgio is redefining fashion and glamour with purpose. Virgio retails eco-responsible clothing and accessories for men and women from its direct-to-customer e-commerce store and has raised $37.8 million over two funding rounds thus far.
