GOA TRANSPORT AGGREGATOR GUIDELINES 2025: A STEP TOWARDS REGULATED APP-BASED TAXI SERVICES

In a significant move towards regulating app-based taxi services in Goa, Transport Minister Shri. Mauvin Godinho chaired a meeting to discuss the Sarkari Bhade:Drivarachi Udgarat scheme. The proposed scheme falls under the Goa Transport Aggregator Guidelines 2025, aiming to ensure fair policies for both drivers and passengers.

The meeting was attended by Director of Transport Shri. Pravimal Abhishek, IAS, OSD Ethel Nunes, and all Assistant Directors of Transport (ADTs), who have been actively engaging with taxi drivers across various regions. The response to the proposed guidelines has been largely positive, with further consultations to be conducted, incorporating public opinion before finalizing the policy.

This development comes amidst the ongoing debate about the impact of app-based taxi services on traditional taxi operators in Goa ¹. The new guidelines aim to strike a balance between the two, ensuring a fair and regulated environment for all stakeholders.

The Goa Transport Aggregator Guidelines 2025 are expected to bring transparency and accountability to the app-based taxi services, while also protecting the interests of drivers and passengers. With the government’s commitment to incorporating public opinion, the final policy is likely to be a well-rounded and effective solution for the state’s transport sector.
