CM Unveils ₹27,993 Crore Surplus Budget: A Giant Leap Towards “Developed Goa 2047”
Porvorim, Goa – Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant addressed the media today, presenting the ₹27,993 crore surplus budget for the financial year 2025-2026 and sharing his government’s plans for the state’s development.
Dr. Sawant was joined by Chief Secretary Dr. V. Candavelou, IAS, Secretary to Chief Minister Asvin Chandru A, IAS, and Joint Secretary (Budget) Pranab Bhat.
The ₹27,993 crore surplus budget unveiled by Goa’s Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant is expected to bring numerous benefits to the people of Goa. Here are some key advantages:
– Improved Healthcare: With ₹857 crore allocated for healthcare services, Goans can expect better medical facilities, including advanced lung cancer treatment and other medical facilities
– Enhanced Education: The budget provides for laptops in every classroom, school repairs, and upgradation, as well as the formation of Cluster Universities to improve higher education standards ¹.
– Boost to Tourism and Cultural Development: The declaration of Shirgaon’s Lairai Jatra and Margao Dindi as state festivals, spiritual tourism promotion, and the development of an aero tourism project in Kitla will promote Goa’s rich cultural heritage and create new opportunities ¹.
– Increased Employment Opportunities: The budget’s focus on economic growth, mining revival, and infrastructure development is expected to generate new job opportunities for Goans ¹.
