GOA DELEGATION RETURNS FROM STUDY VISIT TO KERALA, HAILED AS “KNOWLEDGE-SHARING SUCCESS”

PANAJI: A 14-member team of Elected Representatives Functionaries from various Panchayats in Goa, including Sao Matias, Volvoi, Sarzora, Harvalem, Querim-Tiracol, and Mencurem, returned from a four-day study visit to Kerala, organized by the Goa Institute of Public Administration & Rural Development (GIPARD).

The visit, which took place from March 24 to 27, aimed to provide a platform for learning from Kerala’s best practices in crucial areas such as climate change, disaster management, waste management, and the development of elderly and child-friendly Panchayats.

During the visit, the team had the opportunity to meet with Shri. Rajendra Arlekar, Hon’ble Governor of Kerala, at the Kerala Raj Bhavan. The Governor warmly welcomed the delegation and shared valuable insights on Kerala’s initiatives in the areas of climate change and disaster management.

The study visit was hailed as a “knowledge-sharing success” by the participants, who expressed their gratitude to GIPARD for organizing the trip. “This visit has been an eye-opener for us,” said one of the participants. “We have learned so much from Kerala’s experiences and are eager to implement these learnings in our own Panchayats.”

The visit is expected to strengthen the ties between Goa and Kerala, and pave the way for future collaborations in areas of mutual interest.
