Faith and Unity Shine Bright: St. Maria Goretti Chapel Re-contructed in Siolim”
The reconstructed St. Maria Goretti Chapel at Marna, Siolim, was recently inaugurated, showcasing the community’s deep faith and unity. Delilah Lobo, the main sponsor, expressed gratitude to Rev. Fr. Dr. Socorro Mendes for his blessings and Shri Sandesh D. Hadfadkar, Sarpanch, along with the dedicated Ward Members of Marna Siolim Panchayat, for their contributions to the project.
The chapel’s inauguration highlights the strong community spirit in Siolim, where residents have come together to preserve their cultural heritage. The village is known for its historic churches, including St. Anthony’s Church, which was built in 1630 and features a statue of St. Anthony holding a serpent on a leash, symbolizing a miracle during its construction.
