Calangute: In a bid to address the growing concern of declining tourism in Goa, calangute MLA Michael Lobo joined the Shack Owners Welfare Society-Goa for a press conference at his office in Calangute. The conference highlighted the struggles of shack owners and the need for immediate action to rectify the situation.
“We are facing a severe crisis, and it’s essential that we take immediate action to address the issue,” said John Lobo, highlighting the struggles of shack owners. The main issue discussed was the significant drop in tourism, with speakers attributing it to negative publicity spread by paid bloggers and influencers.
“This misinformation is harming Goa’s reputation and affecting the livelihoods of those dependent on the tourism industry, particularly shack owners,” added Cruz Cardozo. The Shack Owners Welfare Society-Goa emphasized the need to take immediate action to rectify the situation.
“We need to work together to promote Goa’s attractions and reassure tourists that everything is okay in the state,” said MLA Michael Lobo.
