“FDA Goa Cracks Down on Adulterated Fruits, Seizes Mangoes and Bananas at Mapusa ”
Mapusa: The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) of Goa conducted a thorough inspection of mango wholesale units in Siolim and Mapusa Sub Yard, led by Director Shweta Desai. A team of officials visited 15 units and collected 28 fruit samples, comprising mangoes and bananas.
During the inspection, suspicious substances were detected at two units in Mapusa, prompting the seizure of 180 crates of mangoes and approximately 450 kg of bananas. The collected samples have been sent for chemical residue analysis to ensure consumer safety.
The FDA’s swift action demonstrates their commitment to protecting public health and ensuring the availability of safe, high-quality food in Goa.
