IPSCDL Lodges Complaint against GNGPL for Unauthorized Excavation and Damage to Smart City Infrastructure
Imagine Panaji Smart City Development Ltd. (IPSCDL) has formally lodged a police complaint against Goa Natural Gas Private Limited (GNGPL) for unauthorized excavation and damage to public infrastructure on P. Shirgaonkar Road, near Hotel City Pride. The incident involved excavation works on a newly constructed footpath developed under the Smart Cities Mission without prior permission from IPSCDL, which is still under the Defects Liability Period (DLP) and IPSCDL’s maintenance purview.
According to a senior IPSCDL official, “This unauthorized activity not only violates norms but also results in damage to public property, causing inconvenience to citizens and disrespecting the sanctity of a nationally significant project.” IPSCDL has urged authorities to take strict legal action under applicable sections of the Indian Penal Code and other relevant laws pertaining to damage to public property and unauthorized excavation.
Photographic evidence of the damage has been submitted along with the complaint. IPSCDL reiterates its commitment to upholding the integrity of Smart City assets and ensuring accountability for violations disrupting public infrastructure .
