BAINA BEACH AREA HOSTS STATE-LEVEL MOCK EXERCISE FOR CYCLONE PREPAREDNESS
Panaji, April 25, 2025 – The State Disaster Management Authority, Govt. of Goa, in collaboration with the National Disaster Management Authority, Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt. of India, successfully conducted a state-level mock exercise on cyclone and induced disasters at Baina Beach Area, Vasco.
The exercise aimed to assess the preparedness and response capabilities of various stakeholders, including government agencies, emergency responders, and local authorities. A simulated cyclone scenario tested the coordination and communication among participating agencies, helping identify areas for improvement and enhance overall disaster management capabilities.
The mock exercise demonstrated Goa’s commitment to disaster preparedness and response, ensuring the safety and resilience of its citizens and infrastructure. Insights gained from the exercise will refine strategies and improve disaster management in Goa.
