Smt. Sardesai is celebrated as Goa’s first woman advocate and has been a champion of women’s empowerment and consumer awareness. Her bravery and dedication to the cause of freedom were evident in her role as co-runner of the radio station ‘Voice of Freedom’ against the Portuguese regime. On December 19, 1961, she made a historic declaration on her radio station, announcing that the people of Goa were free.
