Nerul SC Stuns Augustias SC 3-1 in Calangute Panchayat Cup Opener
In an electrifying match at the Calangute Panchayat Cup 2025, organized by St Savio Sports Club at Poriat ground, Nerul SC outplayed Augustias SC with a convincing 3-1 victory. The inaugural match was attended by prominent local dignitaries, including Deputy Sarpanch Annie Fernandes, Panch Member Swapnesh Vaigankar, and Ex-President of Calangute Football Association, Alirio Lobo.
The match began on a high note for Augustias SC as Raju Padashi scored off a cross from Anford Fernandes in the 11th minute, leaving the crowd in awe. However, Nerul SC quickly regrouped and equalized in the 31st minute with Prasad Dabolkar netting a goal off a cross by Chaitan Dabolkar. Nerul SC took the lead just before halftime, with Prajot Shirodkar scoring a beautifully placed goal in the 38th minute.
The momentum shifted irreversibly in favor of Nerul SC after Augustias SC’s Umesh Pujar was sent off for a reckless tackle in the 55th minute. Seizing the opportunity, Prasad Dabolkar scored his second goal, securing a 3-1 win for Nerul SC.
