Calangute Congress Slams Authorities Over Crumbling Roads, Protests with Red Tapes
The Calangute Congress unit has strongly criticized the authorities for the deplorable condition of roads in Calangute, alleging negligence and failure to take timely action despite repeated complaints. According to the party, the roads have deteriorated significantly, causing inconvenience to locals and tourists alike.
“This is a clear case of administrative apathy. The authorities have failed to prioritize road maintenance, despite knowing the gravity of the situation,” said a Calangute Congress block president Lourenco Silveira . “We demand immediate action to repair and maintain the roads, ensuring the safety and convenience of commuters.”
The Congress unit urges the government to allocate sufficient funds for road maintenance and development. “It’s unacceptable that our roads are in such a pathetic state. The government needs to take responsibility and allocate adequate funds to address this issue,” added you congress president Vivek dsilva
The issue has sparked widespread concern, with many taking to social media to express frustration over the poor road conditions. In a symbolic protest, the Calangute Block Congress placed red tapes on barricades installed in the middle of the road near Calangute market, highlighting the urgent need for action to address the infrastructure woes plaguing the village.
“We’re not just protesting for the sake of protesting. We’re doing this because we care about the well-being of our people. The authorities need to take concrete steps to address this issue,” said a Congress leader. The party’s protest emphasizes the need for the authorities to prioritize road maintenance and development to alleviate the suffering of commuters.
