Government Launches Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan to Empower Tribal Communities
The Government of India has initiated the Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan (DAJGUA), a transformative program aimed at ensuring holistic development of the country’s tribal communities. The mission covers 26 states and 4 union territories, focusing on 25 key interventions through the convergence of 17 line ministries.
The program seeks to address critical gaps in tribal villages, focusing on safe housing and clean drinking water, improved sanitation and healthcare facilities, enhanced access to quality education and nutrition, reliable electricity supply and promotion of renewable energy sources, better road and telecom connectivity, and sustainable livelihoods through scheme convergence.
The initiative aligns with the Viksit Bharat Vision 2047 and Social Goals of Social Welfare (SGoS), targeting inclusive growth and upliftment of tribal communities. To raise awareness about the program, Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) activities will be conducted from May 15 to June 30, 2025.
Citizens are encouraged to take advantage of the benefits offered by this Abhiyaan. The Collector of North Goa District has requested wide dissemination of the program’s details through the Director of Information and Publicity, Government of Goa.
