Mapusa Poultry Vendors Unite for Waste Management Amid FDA Crackdown
Following recent FDA raids and closures of several chicken businesses in Mapusa due to unhygienic conditions, the All Goa Poultry Shopkeepers Association has taken proactive steps to address waste management issues. Around 36 poultry vendors met with Mapusa municipality officials, highlighting the lack of adequate waste collection services, which had forced them to dispose of waste improperly.

In response, the association has directed its members to deposit waste with them, making membership mandatory for all poultry businesses. This initiative aims to ensure proper waste management and mitigate the risk of further closures.

The municipality has also issued directives to poultry shop vendors, instructing them to cease chicken cutting activities on their premises. Strict action will be taken against vendors found dumping waste openly or operating without proper registration.
