SALIGAO SC STORM INTO FINAL OF CALANGUTE PANCHAYAT CUP
In a nail-biting encounter at the Poriat ground in Calangute, Saligao Sporting Club secured a spot in the final of the Calangute Panchayat Cup by defeating Raia Sporting Club 7-6 in the tie-breaker after the match ended 1-1 in regular time.
The first half saw Saligao SC dominating possession, with Sachidanand Satelkar giving them the early lead with a powerful shot in the 17th minute. Despite Raia SC’s efforts to equalize, Saligao SC’s defense held strong, and they went into halftime with a 1-0 lead.
In the second half, Raia SC came out aggressively, pressing high and creating scoring opportunities. Their efforts paid off in the 54th minute when Leran Dias scored with a neat placement, equalizing the match 1-1.
