“DR. SAWANT HONOURS LITERARY EXCELLENCE ON GOA STATEHOOD DAY”
Panaji, May 30 – On the occasion of the 39th Goa Statehood Day, Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant presented the prestigious Bhasha Puraskar awards to renowned literary figures for their outstanding contributions to Konkani and Marathi literature. The ceremony was held at Kala Academy, Campal, Panaji, and was organized by the Directorate of Official Language. The awards were presented for the years 2022-2023, 2023-2024, and 2024-2025. For Konkani literature, the Dnyanpeeth Awardee Ravindra Kelekar Konkani Bhasha Puraskar was awarded to Shri. Manikrao Ram Nayak Gaunekar (2022-2023), Shri. Suresh Ramchandra Pai (2023-2024), and Shri. Bhiku Bomi Naik (2024-2025). For Marathi literature, the B. D. Satoskar Marathi Bhasha Puraskar was awarded to Shri. Shambhu Bhau Bandekar (2022-2023), Shri. Anil Gajanan Samant (2023-2024), and Shri. Ramesh D. Onskar (2024-2025). The awards ceremony highlighted the importance of promoting and preserving the rich literary heritage of Goa and recognized the contributions of these literary figures to the state’s cultural landscape
