“REGULATE CAB AGGREGATORS NOW”: MLA MICHAEL LOBO PLEDGES SUPPORT TO TAXI OWNERS
Calangute, Goa – Calangute MLA Michael Lobo has pledged his support to local taxi owners in their demand for regulating cab aggregators. The MLA’s assurance comes after a delegation of taxi owners met with him to highlight the challenges they face due to the unregulated operations of cab aggregators.
“We’re not against innovation, but we believe that cab aggregators should operate within the framework of the law,” MLA Lobo said. “We urge the government to take immediate action to regulate these aggregators and ensure that the local taxi owners’ rights are protected.”
MLA Lobo emphasized the need for transparency and accountability in the operations of cab aggregators. “There should be complete transparency in the way cab aggregators operate, including their pricing models, driver verification processes, and customer feedback mechanisms,” he said.
“The current unregulated environment is detrimental to the livelihoods of many taxi owners,” MLA Lobo added. “It’s essential that we create a fair and level playing field for all stakeholders in the transportation sector.”
The taxi owners have been demanding regulation of cab aggregators, citing unfair competition and loss of business. MLA Lobo’s support has given them new hope that their voices will be heard, and the government will take necessary action.
In a clear indication of his commitment to the local taxi operators, MLA Lobo stated, “Decline of Tourism is not for Taxi issue, we are with Locals Taxi Operators. There should be Transparency. CM can only solve their issue.”
With MLA Lobo’s backing, the taxi owners are optimistic that the government will take concrete steps to regulate cab aggregators and protect their interests.
