GOA HONORED WITH PRESTIGIOUS AGRICULTURE LEADERSHIP AWARD 2025
Panaji, Goa – Goa has been awarded the Agriculture Leadership Award 2025 by the Agriculture Today Group in recognition of its outstanding contributions to the agricultural sector. The award was presented to Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant by Minister for Agriculture Shri Ravi S Naik, Chairman of Goa State Horticulture Corp Ltd. Shri Premendra Vishnu Shet, and Director Agriculture Shri Sandeep Foldessai.
Goa’s agricultural policy aims to encourage a return to farming, preserve agricultural land, and promote innovative practices. The state’s Amrit Kaal Agricultural Policy, 2025, seeks to encourage 75% of the population to return to farming, offering substantial subsidies and a framework for modernizing agriculture.
The policy emphasizes sustainable practices like vertical farming, hydroponics, and aeroponics to enhance productivity. Additionally, the government plans to establish a Farmer Welfare Fund Board and a distressed farmers welfare fund to support farmers’ welfare.
The Agriculture Leadership Award 2025 recognizes Goa’s commitment to agricultural excellence and its efforts to improve farmers’ lives and the state’s economy. The award ceremony was part of the 16th Agriculture Leadership Conclave 2025.
