20 Marathi Matrushakti Conferences and 20 ‘Marathiyuva’ Conferences to be Organized Across Goa”*
To strengthen the Marathi Rajbhasha movement, the Marathi Rajbhasha Nirdhar Samiti will organize 20 Marathi Matrushakti conferences and 20 ‘Marathiyuva’ conferences across Goa over the next 5 months. This was announced by State Convener Prarcharya Subhash Bhaskar Velingkar at the inaugural ceremony of ‘Marathi Matrushakti’ on Tuesday.
The ceremony, which marked the beginning of ‘Marathi Matrushakti’, a separate organizational women’s unit of the Marathi Rajbhasha Nirdhar Samiti, was attended by senior guide Go. Ra. Dhavalikar, who lit the lamp symbolically. A 40-member Goa State Committee of Marathi Matrushakti was formed, comprising representatives from 18 talukas across Goa.
The state committee announced the appointment of district heads and co-ordinators for the three districts:
* North Goa: District Head – Adv. Roshan Ravindra Samant, Mapusa; Co-ordinator – Shubhada Gajanan Kalangutkar, Dichoim.
* Central Goa: District Head – Nina Rajendra Naik, Panaji; Co-ordinator – Chitra Prakash Kshirsagar, Talgaon.
* South Goa: District Head – Purnima Vallabh Desai, Margao; Co-ordinator – Vishakha Rukmesh Desai, Cuncolim.
The plan is to establish Marathi Matrushakti committees at the taluka level by August 10 and organize conferences across Goa. The meeting was addressed by Dr. Anita Tilve, State Head of Marathi Matrushakti, who emphasized the importance of Marathi as the state language.
