Faldessai praises pro-poor, pro-infrastructure budget
PANAJI: Cumbarjua MLA Rajesh Faldessai on Tuesday praised the budget tabled by Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant calling it a budget that is in favour of the poor and focussed on developing infrastructure in the state of Goa.
Speaking during the budget discussion, Faldessai especially highlighted the outlay for the Electricity Department, which he said was around Rs 65-crore and a lot of which was spent on underground cabling in his constituency.
“This budget has something for everyone including for farmers — in my constituency at least six bandhs (embankments) have been built through the WRD department — for tourism, for infrastructure — we had sought an overbridge at Gandaulim and the government has sanctioned it and work has now started,” Faldessai said.
“This budget is of a total of Rs 28,160 crore, which is not a small amount. I congratulate the Chief Minister for this layout and for taking care of every segment including the MLAs who have been given an allocation for works in their constituency,” Faldessai said.
