FC Goa Rope In Spanish Striker Javier Siverio
FC Goa have completed the signing of Spanish striker Javier Siverio ahead of the 2025-26 season, the Club can officially confirm.
Born in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Spain, Siverio developed through the youth systems of UD Las Palmas and Racing Santander before moving to India in 2021.
The 27-year-old forward joins the Gaurs following a two-year stint at Hyderabad FC and stints with East Bengal & Jamshedpur FC, bringing with him considerable experience in Indian football and a proven eye for goal. He won the ISL title with Hyderabad FC in his debut season, and later helped East Bengal lift the 2024 Super Cup.
Speaking on the signing, Manolo Marquez, FC Goa’s Head Coach, said,
“Javier is a goal scorer. I used to say that he will score goals all his life since he has scored goals in all the teams that he has played. He also has a lot of experience in India. He has been with me in Las Palmas & Hyderabad when we were champions and now again in Goa. He is also maybe the best header of the ball in the ISL. He is a team player & will be a very useful addition to our squad this season. ”
A proven poacher in front of goal, Siverio has found the net 31 times in Indian football since 2021 — underlining his reputation as a reliable striker.
The Spaniard, who is already in Goa and has begun training with the squad, expressed his excitement about the new chapter.
“FC Goa is one of the best teams in India and when a big team calls, the decision is very easy. It is also easier when you know the coach and some team mates who were with me in Hyderabad and that has helped me adapt better. FC Goa is a Club I’ve admired for a long time – the passion of the Goan fans, the style of football, and the ambition to win. I’m really happy to be here and can’t wait to give my best for the team.”
With this move, Siverio becomes the latest addition to Manolo Márquez’s squad as the Gaurs gear up for a landmark campaign, which includes continental commitments.
