FC Goa complete foreign roster with the signing of Spanish midfielder David Timor
Porovrim: FC Goa are delighted to announce the signing of experienced Spanish midfielder David Timor for the upcoming Indian Super League (ISL) season. The 35-year-old joins the Gaurs ahead of the 2025-26 campaign and becomes the Club’s sixth and final foreign signing of the season.
A product of Valencia CF’s famed youth academy, Timor brings a wealth of experience to Goa’s midfield. The left-footed central midfielder has made close to 500 appearances in Spanish football, including more than 150 games in La Liga with clubs like Valencia, Osasuna, Leganés, Girona, Las Palmas, Getafe and Huesca.
Known for his intelligence on the ball, range of passing, and leadership qualities, Timor adds depth and versatility to Manolo Marquez’s squad. He has played in both defensive and central midfield roles throughout his career and is expected to play a key part in dictating play for the Gaurs this season.
Speaking on the signing, FC Goa head coach Manolo Marquez said:
“David is a very experienced player with a lot of games in professional football in Spain. He is a very good addition to the team because he is a leader & his role was very important in all the teams he has played so far. He has a very good left foot & scores goals from outside the box & from set pieces.”
“I’m very happy to join a club like FC Goa, one of the biggest in the league. It’s an honour for me to be able to defend this shirt. I am going to give my all so that FC Goa can achieve all its objectives. Since my arrival, everything has been easy. My teammates have welcomed me very well and are helping me to adapt as quickly as possible. I’m looking forward to August 13th so I can play at the Fatorda stadium with all our fans. It’s a very important match and we need you.”
Timor becomes the fifth Spanish player in the FC Goa squad this season, joining the likes of Iker Guarrotxena, Borja Herrera, Pol Moreno and Javier Siverio. His arrival completes the foreign contingent for the Gaurs ahead of what promises to be an exciting campaign as the team eyes silverware.
The Spaniard has already linked up with the squad in Goa and has begun training with the team as preparations continue for the upcoming AFC Champions League qualifying fixture.
