“Electric Shock Alert in Mapusa Market: Safety Concerns Rise Ahead of Ganesh Chaturthi”
A man received an electric shock on Monday night after an underground power line was damaged in the Mapusa market, causing current to leak into the water on the road near the Shakuntala statue. The incident occurred around 8 pm, prompting shopkeepers to alert the electricity department.
Upon inspection, electricity department workers found that the underground power cable was damaged, leading to the leakage of current on the wet road. To prevent further accidents, the electricity workers switched off the electricity supply in the market.
The business community has raised concerns about the safety of the market, suspecting that substandard equipment may have been used for the underground power lines. A recent incident where a cow was electrocuted in the market has added to these concerns.
