Drishti Marine Assisted Forest Department in Disposing Partially Decomposed Whale Carcass on South Goa’s Talpona Beach

Panaji, August 2025 – A partially decomposed whale carcass was washed ashore at the Talpona beach on Sunday (August 24) afternoon. A Drishti Marine lifesaver was informed about the carcass being washed ashore at 3:30 pm. As per existing protocol, which specifically deals with marine creatures being washed ashore, the Forest Department authorities were formally informed about the incident. Drishti Marine lifesavers are the designated first responders to emergencies related to marine life on Goa’s beaches. After Forest Department personnel arrived at the spot and formally examined and identified the carcass, our on-duty Drishti Marine lifesaver assisted them in the proper burial of the carcass, after following proper safety protocol.
