Goa CM Honors Outstanding Educators on Teachers’ Day
Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant celebrated the 64th State-level Teachers’ Day at Kala Academy in Panaji, acknowledging the pivotal role teachers play in shaping young minds. During the event, Dr. Sawant presented the Chief Minister Vashistha Guru Puraskar 2024-25 to 10 exceptional educators, recognizing their dedication to education.
The Chief Minister emphasized that teachers are crucial in guiding students to become responsible citizens and leaders, echoing the sentiments of former President Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan.
The event highlighted the government’s commitment to education, with plans to establish Vidya Samiksha Kendra, a monitoring system to ensure no school is understaffed. The ceremony was attended by prominent officials, including Secretary of Education Shri Prasad Lolayekar, Director of Education Shri Shailesh Zingde, and State Project Director Dr. Shambhu Ghadi.
Teachers’ Day commemorates the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, a renowned philosopher and statesman. By honoring outstanding teachers, the government aims to inspire others to strive for excellence in education, recognizing the vital role educators play in shaping the nation’s future.
