TEDxPanaji xPERIENCES Open Mic event brought together Goan talent on a single stage
~TEDxPanaji xPERIENCES Open Mic, in collaboration with Zeitgeist Goa and held Carpe Diem Art Gallery, Majorda saw over 17 artistes perform on the theme Itās About Time! ~
Panaji, September 2025: Recently, TEDxPanaji, in collaboration with Zeitgeist Goa, hosted an Open Mic Evening at Carpe Diem Art Gallery, Majorda. Curated and hosted by Diya Padiyar and Loretta Rodrigues, the event created a warm, engaging space for music, poetry, stand-up comedy, and storytelling.
The stage saw a wide mix of performances ranging from music, poetry exploring relationships, modern-day experiences, and an Urdu poem on coincidences and living in the present. Each of the 17 performers interpreted the theme āItās About Time!ā in their works, sharing real experiences, stories and poems, leaving the audience in awe.
The conversations that followed the performances lent a special edge to the evening, with participants sharing their thoughts behind their pieces, and the audience reflecting on their own lives and stories. Closing the night was el.trio (Rauf, Bento and Daenior) whose energy, while performing covers of popular artists and an original number, left the audience on a high note.
This Open Mic showcased how community-driven platforms can go beyond entertainment and bring voices together, much like the parent TEDxPanaji event. Speaking about the thought behind this event, organiser and curator of TEDxPanaji Ravi Kambhoj, said, āThe TEDxPanaji xPERIENCES Open Mic is all about discovering talent within our local communities. Goa is full of hidden voicesāstorytellers, poets, musicians, comediansāwho just need the right space to be heard. By creating these platforms, weāre not only celebrating creativity but also nurturing a culture where everyday people can inspire, connect and spark ideas worth spreading,ā
An independently organised TED event, TEDxPanaji helps build spaces in Goa that spark creativity, share ideas, and inspire change. Collaborating in this spirit, Zeitgeist Goa, a collective of writers, poets, educators, artists and performers, lent its vibrancy to the evening. The experience was further made memorable with the welcoming atmosphere of Carpe Diem Art Gallery, a venue known for supporting local art and cultural initiatives. Together, the collaborators turned a Sunday evening into a true celebration of expression, laughter, and community.
