Storytelling workshop at Shivani Hall of Shri Shanta Vidyalaya, a unique confluence of knowledge, art and culture
In the unique backdrop of an atmosphere filled with waves of joy in the Shivani Hall of Shri Shanta Vidyalaya, run by Vidya Bharati, and the auspicious presence of dignitaries who lit the lamp of knowledge, Vidya Bharati Shri Shanta Vidyalaya organized a unique workshop. In this workshop based on the topic of “Storytelling Art – Dialogue with the Child’s Mind”, retired professor and renowned speaker, education expert Mr. Dilip Vasant Betkekar, who is known as a magician of words, was present as the subject expert.
The workshop began with the lighting of the auspicious lamp. The school manager Mr. Purushottam Kamat, the paradise of social service and the head of the organization Mr. Shivshankar Mayekar, his close life partner, retired professor and heart-touching poetess Mrs. Vanita Shivshankar Mayekar, the in-charge principal of the school Mr. Vishwas Sangale, as well as Mr. The presence of the entire teaching staff and non-teaching staff of Shanta Vidyalaya and Vidya Bharathi People’s School, Kamurli, gave a special significance to the program.
Subject expert Mr. Dilip Vasant Betkekar, in his easy-going style, thoroughly explained various aspects of storytelling, the classical method of story telling, the skill of bringing characters to life, the rise and fall of voice, the magic of gestures, and the emotional dialogue that resonated with the hearts of the audience. He himself narrated various stories. The hall was mesmerized by his storytelling.
After this, a new phase of the workshop began. In-charge Principal Mr. Vishwas Sangle, as well as Mr. Shivshankar Mayekar and Mrs. Vanita Mayekar, teachers Mr. Sangam Chodankar, Mr. Umesh Mahalkar, teacher Mr. Vikas Singh, teacher Mrs. Puja Shetye also presented their stories effectively. These stories, intertwined with the melodious sound of words, the rhythm of emotions and the message of life values, gave a new touch to the hearts of the audience.
This workshop had a unique feature. Selected books of life stories of great leaders and inspiring personalities were kept for display and sale here. Teachers visited the stall of these books with special enthusiasm and purchased valuable books for themselves and their students. These books that lead to leadership, goals, dreams and success inspired every teacher to work with new hope.
Finally, among the attendees, teachers Shri Navnath Sawant, Shri. Prasad Shinde, teacher Mrs. Sneha Naik expressed emotional reactions. Storytelling is not just an art, but it is a divine process of communicating with the child’s mind, sowing the seeds of values and making the fruits of culture bloom. This was realized at this time. Similarly, a creative initiative to identify the names of the leaves of various trees was taken up for the teachers at this time.
This workshop was coordinated by the in-charge principal Shri. Vishwas Sangale and the vote of thanks was given by teacher Shri Umesh Mahalkar. Thus, this workshop was not just an educational program, but it became a sacred ceremony that strengthened knowledge, art, culture and social bonds.
