Calangute: The vibrant town of Calangute recently hosted the Eco-Friendly Matoli & Ganesh Chaturthi Decoration Competition at Umtavaddo. The event saw enthusiastic participation from local residents, showcasing their creativity and devotion while emphasizing the importance of eco-friendly practices during the festive season.
The event was graced by social woker from Calangute Ashton Santa maria in the presence of sarpanch of Parra VP Daniel Lobo,, and Jaynath Parulekar, who distributed prizes to the winners. Participants got creative with sustainable materials, incorporating elements like:: Marigolds, roses, and jasmine were used to create beautiful garlands and rangoli designs, adding a touch of elegance and fragrance to the decorations with Recycled Innovative use of recycled materials, such as old newspapers, cardboard, and glass jars, transformed into decorative items like paper flowers, lanterns, and candle holders. Banana and coconut leaves, bamboo, and jute products were used to create stunning backdrops, adornments, and other decorative elements.
