Saligao Police Nab Accused in Rs. 2.8 Lakh Theft Case, Recover Stolen Cash”
Saligao: In a swift operation, the Saligao Police Station team arrested Akash Mahato, a 22-year-old native of Puruliya, West Bengal, in connection with a theft case at the Three Kings Resort in Nerul. The accused allegedly stole approximately Rs. 2,80,000 in cash from a villa between 8 pm on September 16 and 12:30 am on September 17.
The police apprehended the accused at Vasco airport, where he was attempting to flee to his native place. The entire stolen amount was recovered from the accused’s possession. The arrest was made under the supervision of PI Milind Bhuimbar, SDPO Vishwesh Karpe, and SP North Rahul Gupta, showcasing the police department’s commitment to solving crimes.
The police team, led by PSI David Costa and PSI Sarvesh Bhandari, demonstrated exceptional efficiency in tracking down the accused and recovering the stolen cash. This successful operation highlights the importance of technical surveillance and prompt action in solving crimes ¹.
