Saligao: Josphine D’cruz was elected unopposed as the new sarpanch of the 7 member Parra village panchayat on monday .
As only one nomination for the post was received, dcruz was elected unopposed as the new sarpanch. Panchayat secretary assisted the presiding officer in the election process. the post had fallen vacant after sarpanch Delilah Lobo had resigned from her post of the sarpanch of Parra to contest the assembly elections from siolim constituency. calangute MLA Michael lobo along with Siolim MLA Delilah Lobo were present for the elections.
newly elected sarpanch Josphine thanked all the panchas for reposing their faith in her and getting her elected as the sarpanch of Parra VP and added that most of the developmental works in the village will be completed along with the help of the local MLA Michael lobo .
