3-day 9th Annual Mega Goa World Expos 2022 to take off from August 4 at Bambolim
PANAJI: Goa is all set to host the 19th Annual Mega Goa World Expos 2022 from 4 – 6 August, at Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee AC Stadium, Bambolim.
The 3-day Expo will have a special emphasis on four-located events — India Hospitality and Tourism, Organic Food and Beverages, Ayush and Wellness, and Interiors and Home.
The mega event is being organised by Trinity Ventures, a Mumbai-based Goan corporate which has the distinction of accomplishing three Guinness World Records in Goa.
A large number of Union and State government ministries are presenting schemes and incentives for the benefit of citizens. Over 100 brands will be representing the expo with their latest products. Among the highlights will include Bakery and Culinary Challenges, Japanese trained chefs demonstrating secrets of sushi, India’s Cheese Master making different types of cheese, individual eating exclusive eating outlets demonstrating Indian/international and pan Asian cuisine, and much more.
Shripad Naik, Union Minister of State for Tourism, Shipping, Waterways & Ports and Dr. Pramod Sawant, Chief Minister of Goa, other ministers, will be present.
Besides this, various Government of Goa agencies like Biodiversity Board, Agriculture, Tourism, Ayush, FDA, etc. are also showcasing their achievements, schemes and incentives to the public.
Joseph Dias, Chairman, Trinity Group, said that the objective of hosting an event on this scale is to enable visitors from across the country and abroad to have joint ventures with Goans and kickstart Goa’s economy and benefit thousands of Goans.
“Our objective is to make Goa a tourist destination throughout the year. The role of Trinity is a catalyst to bring all stakeholders in the hotel, tourism and food sector together. The company has been organising this event for the past 18 years in Goa. We have got a very good response, not just from businesses in India but as well as from countries abroad who will be coming here. Such a kind of activity is available only in Delhi. It will be the
second largest in the country, and as Goans we are happy to be part of it,” said Dias.
Odette Mascarenhas, President of the Goa Culinary Club, said that the overall aim of having such an event is to put Goan cuisine on the world map.
“Today, we can proudly say that Goa is the food capital of the country. This is an event where we will be showcasing chef skills. There will be a plethora of cuisines under a unique concept called ‘Food Ensemble’ where some of the finest preparations by standalone restaurant chefs will be on a common platform right from inspired Indian to Goan, as well as Modern Pan Asian, Tropical Cuisine and Desserts,” she said.
Chef Sunit Sharma, vice-president of the Culinary Forum of Goa and Goa Culinary Club said that there will be a competition of culinary arts for home bakers and home chefs at the event.
“During the past two years of the pandemic, a very big segment of food professionals and entrepreneurs has come up. People who were not cooking food as a profession are doing so now. This has given rise to native and regional cuisine, basically home food, which was missing. This segment has come out very strongly,” he said.
