ASSAGAO UNION HIGH SCHOOL REACHES FINALS OF BRO. D. OF SLATTERY MEMORIAL FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT
Assagao – Assagao Union High School has made it to the finals of the 26th Bro. D. Of Slattery Memorial All Goa Inter School Football Tournament in the sub-junior under 13 girls category.The team secured their spot in the finals by defeating The King’s School, St. Jose de Areal, 2-0 in the quarterfinals, with Vidisha Assagaonkar scoring both goals. In the semifinals, they edged out St. Jude H/S, Betabatim, 1-0, courtesy of a goal from Pratigya Ekka.
Led by captain Divya Naik and trained by Physical Education Teacher Amit Virnodkar, the team has shown exceptional skill and determination throughout the tournament.
The final match is scheduled to take place on September 21, 2024, at Regina Mundi School ground, Chicalim.
“We’re thrilled to reach the finals. The girls have worked hard, and I’m confident they’ll give their best shot,” said Amit Virnodkar, P. Ed. Teacher.
“We’re excited to play in the finals. We’ll do our best to bring home the trophy,” said Divya Naik, Team Captain.
