SIOLIM RESIDENTS BATTLE GARBAGE MENACE
Siolim, Goa – October 23, 2024 Residents of Siolim are fed up with the growing garbage problem in their village, citing health concerns and environmental degradation.
It was noticed that garbage has been Overflowing garbage bins with Lack of waste collection and Open dumping and Pollution of water bodies
“We’re tired of living amidst filth,” said a local resident. “The authorities must act now.”
“The stench is unbearable,” added another resident and We are in need a permanent solution.”
There needs to be proper Door-to-door collection with Waste segregation and Composting initiatives and Public awareness campaigns
Residents have demanded Regular waste collection with Proper waste disposal and Increased recycling and Community involvement
The unchecked waste disposal has created an ideal breeding ground for mosquitoes, sparking fears of vector-borne diseases such as malaria and dengue fever.
