CM Pramod Sawant Champions Women Empowerment at NEXUS 2025
PANAJI, GOA – February 2025 – Chief Minister Pramod Sawant emphasized the pivotal role women play in shaping industries and driving societal progress at NEXUS 2025, Goa Institute of Management’s flagship event.
Addressing the gathering as the chief guest, CM Sawant highlighted the significance of gender inclusivity and the Women’s Reservation Bill, passed in 2023, which provides 33% reservation to women in the Lok Sabha and State Assemblies.
“The strength of a society lies in how it uplifts those who have long been unheard,” CM Sawant stated. “True empowerment commences when the potential of every individual, regardless of their background or circumstances, is recognised.”
CM Sawant also shed light on various government initiatives aimed at empowering women, fostering entrepreneurship, and ensuring equal leadership opportunities. “True equality is achieved not by division, but by ensuring everyone has the opportunity to lead,” he added.
Curtorim MLA Reginaldo Lourenco, who also attended the event, informed the audience about financial and infrastructural support available to women-led businesses through the Goa Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC).
Prof. Ajit Parulekar, Director of Goa Institute of Management, noted that NEXUS 2025 served as a bridge connecting academia with real-world business challenges, with a thrust on problem-solving.
The event featured insightful panel discussions with accomplished women leaders in marketing, advertising, and planning, as well as competitive events for student participants to showcase their marketing skills.
