GOA GOVERNMENT PROVIDES FINANCIAL LIFELINE TO DISASTER-HIT LIVESTOCK FARMERS
Panaji, Goa: In a significant move to mitigate the suffering of livestock farmers affected by disasters in Goa, Minister for Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services, Shri. Nilkant Halarnkar, handed over cheques of financial assistance to 14 beneficiaries at Porvorim yesterday.
The financial aid, disbursed under the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services’ disaster relief scheme, aims to provide immediate relief and support to farmers who have lost their livestock or suffered damage to their farms due to natural disasters.
“The Goa government is committed to supporting our farmers in times of need,” said Minister Halarnkar. “We understand the importance of livestock farming to our state’s economy and are dedicated to providing assistance to those affected by disasters.”
The event was attended by Director of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services (AHVS), Dr. Nitin Naik, Deputy Director (Planning), Dr. Prakash Korgaonkar, and other senior officials.
This initiative is part of the state government’s efforts to promote the welfare of livestock farmers and animals in Goa. The Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services has been working tirelessly to provide relief and support to farmers affected by disasters, and this financial assistance is a crucial step in that direction.
