Milan Chokshi Takes the Helm as New Chairman of Gem and Jewellery Skill Council of India

In a significant development, the Gem and Jewellery Skill Council of India (GJSCI) has announced the appointment of Milan Chokshi as its new chairman. Chokshi succeeds Adil Kotwal, bringing a wealth of experience and expertise to the role. The decision was made by the GJSCI’s board of directors following a meeting held in October.

Chokshi, a fourth-generation jewellery and gemologist, is well-positioned to drive the council’s objectives forward. As the director of Tanvirkumar & Co. and bullion operations at Diamond India Limited, Chokshi has demonstrated a strong commitment to the industry. His active involvement in the Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council’s (GJEPC) ‘Committee of Administration’ and his role as chairman of the Indian Institute of Gems and Jewellery in Mumbai further underscore his dedication to jewellery education and industry development.

“His enthusiasm would surely foster the objective of skilling the youth of the nation and facilitate industry support,” the Gem and Jewellery Skill Council of India stated, highlighting Chokshi’s potential to make a meaningful impact in his new role.

Chokshi expressed his excitement about taking on the new position, stating, “I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as Chairman at Gem & Jewellery Skill Council of India.” With his extensive experience and industry knowledge, Chokshi is poised to lead the GJSCI in its mission to promote skill development and support the growth of the gem and jewellery sector.
