Goa Legislative Assembly Speaker Attends World Tribal Day 2025 Celebration
Hon’ble Speaker of the Goa Legislative Assembly, Shri Ramesh Tawadkar, attended the World Tribal Day 2025 program organized by the Goa Commission for SC/ST and Directorate of Tribal Welfare in association with Gaondongrim village Panchayat at Canacona. The event aimed to recognize and celebrate the contributions and cultures of indigenous people.
A Goan Folk Dance and Cultural program was organized to showcase the traditional cultural talent of the ST Community, highlighting their rich heritage and traditions. Shri Tawadkar emphasized the importance of studying and protecting the culture of indigenous people, citing the example of traditional agrarian knowledge of the tribal community.
The event focused on promoting the welfare and development of tribal communities in Goa, with the Goa Commission for SC/ST playing a key role in this endeavor. Shri Tawadkar and Shri Dipak Desai, Secretary/CEO of the Goa Commission for SC/ST, were present at the event, highlighting the government’s efforts to empower and support tribal communities.
The World Tribal Day celebration serves as a reminder of the importance of preserving and promoting the cultural heritage of indigenous communities, and the Goa government’s efforts to empower and support these communities.
