TIVIM HISTORY SHEETER RELEASED ON BAIL
In connection with a case of assault of Mr. Arjun Payre and his brother in the parking lot of Mapusa Court Premises over a personal issue, History-Sheeter Mr. Sagar Shirodkar resident of Tivim accused of assaulting Arjun Payre and Karan Payre along-with his three other accomplices was arrested by the Mapusa Police on 18/11/2021 at 11:00pm. Mapusa Police had registered the FIR u/s 504, 323, 506(ii) r/w 34 of IPC on 10/11/2021 after obtaining permission from JMFC , Mapusa. Sagar Shirodkar is a history sheeter involved in several serious offences and more than 10 FIRs are registered against him in various police stations in Goa and is also on the Externment list of the Police. The police objected the bail on the grounds that Sagar Shirodkar is a habitual offender and due to his criminal antecedents the safety and dignity of the complainant and the witnesses would be at risk if he is enlarged on bail. Other accused involved in the Crime are not arrested yet, however since the police sought Sagar Shirodkar’s judicial custody, he was released on bail by the JMFC of Mapusa on conditions that he should report at the police station for ten consecutive days from the next day of his release and is directed not to temper with the evidence or witnesses involved in the case and is directed not to commit similar or any other offence. Violation of any of the conditions can result in cancellation of the bail granted to him. Advocate Sanket S. Mahambre appeared and argued on behalf of Mr. Sagar Shirodkar.
