Saurabhi Naik assisted by Sports Society of Goa
The Sports Society of Goa, which was recently set up to provide financial assistance and sports equipment to the needy and talented athletes in Goa, provided financial assistance to Saurabh Naik, who was selected for the World Cup in swimming.
The aid was handed over to Saurabhi by the president of the organization Dayanand Bhagat at a function held at Porvorim
Vice President Vivek Perira and Secretary Amey Bhetkekar were present on the occasion.Everyone also wished him well for the competition.
The tournament will be held from February 25 to 27 in Hungary .This is the first time that a Goan swimmer has been selected for the global Finn swimming Championships.
The Indian team was selected by the Underwater Sports Association of India.
Along with Saurabhi Naik, Mithila Karapurkar, Shreeja Gad and Hansika Veluskar from Goa have also been selected for the competition.
Dayanand Bhagat, President of the Society, while wishing all the best, assured that the name of Goa and India would rise to a great level .
