in Two major fire incidents an open area of Parra madani and also a dried field opposite to bodgeshwar temple near morod mapusa caught fire in the early hours of Wednesday, as the fire threatened to spread further timely intervention by the fire service department prevented the fire from spreading. No injuries were reported in the incident.
Fire personnel of Mapusa and other fire stations and forest officials were kept on their toes to douse the fire fire personnel informed that the fire was triggered after some unknown person might have set fire to the dry grass which caused the major fire break out destroying the beauty of heritage scene of parra madani.
It may be recalled that two months back a major fire had also broken out in a forested hillside it the same village of Parra which had threatened to spread to areas in Anjuna and Arpora-Nagao, affecting almost two lakh sq metres area making it the first major forest fire incident reported in Bardez.in that particular incident Fire personnel of Mapusa and other fire stations, local youth, members of Parra panchayat and forest officials were on their toes to douse the fire till late in the evening. Wednesdays fire incident is the second major fire incident of Parra.
