Lobo was speaking at the sidelines of the inauguration of a Ganesh chaturthi tableau put up at the shantadurga temple at Calangute
The Calangute MLA expressed his delight on the historic women’s reservation bill providing 33 per cent reservation to women in parliament claiming that the bill was passed for women empowerment.
the bill was passed in the Lok Sabha after hours of fierce debate. This was the first time the bill was introduced and passed in the lower house said lobo “This proves the bjp4india government led by PM Narendra modi does not believe in lip service but believes in actual empowerment of women “Nari-Shakti” which he has been talking about all this while.
The related census and delimitation work is likely to be completed by 2027 and the reservation may be applicable for the state assembly polls,” lobo said ..
Now, if the Bill is passed and if the census and delimitation are completed then Goa could have 13 women MLAs in the 2027 assembly,” lobo further said
